Memorial Day is a day to honor and appreciate the brave men and who lost their lives while defending their country. It is celebrated annually on the last Monday in May. The holiday originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. This day also is an opportunity for us to thank our veterans for their service and sacrifices they made for our country. Here at UGI Energy Services we did just that with the help of our VET (Veteran Employee Team) team! Brian Byerly (who came out from Pittsburgh!), Mindy Deamer, Greg Myers, Dante D’Alessandro and Jackie Nawa have done a spectacular job organizing this event.
As 2022 comes to a close, we would like to take some time and reflect on the United Way activities UGI Energy Services employees had participated in over the last year. UGIES President, Joe Hartz and his wife Dana were this year’s United Way of Berks County Co-Chairs, so it was a monumental year for our team in the community.
We are delighted to celebrate both our earth and volunteers this week! This week we honor Earth Day and National Volunteer Week. These two observances go hand in hand, as we use our planet as the vessel for many of our volunteer activities. We have been busy recently, participating in activities to help our planet and community. At UGIES, we value our volunteers and the work they do within our community. We thank our employee volunteers for taking action and giving back to the places we call home.
