WYOMISSING, Pa. – Today, UGI Energy Services LLC (UGIES), the midstream and energy marketing subsidiary of UGI Corporation (NYSE: UGI), commemorated its spring 2022 visits to Pennsylvania schools and scholarship organizations it supports through Pennsylvania’s Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) program. This year UGIES contributed $200,000 to support 70 private and parochial schools and scholarship organizations.
The United Way of Berks County has recently announced its 2022 Campaign Co-Chairs – UGI Energy Services President, Joe Hartz and his wife, Dana Hartz! Joe and Dana Hartz have a long history of supporting the community by volunteering, advocating, and making financial contributions. Together they have participated in United Way volunteer events to pack meals to help prevent hunger in Berks County. During the pandemic, Joe volunteered at food pantries throughout Berks County, to distribute food to those less fortunate. Volunteering is equally important for Dana. Every morning during the week, you will find her exercising shelter dogs at the Animal Rescue League. Their home has become a forever home to many homeless animals. They have played active roles in making the community a better place.
At UGIES, we serve a variety of businesses of all different types and sizes and we value our small business customers. During the first week of May (May 1st – 7th), we honor Small Business Week. During this week, entrepreneurs and small business owners are recognized and celebrated for their accomplishments. According to the Small Business Association, a small business is a firm having fewer than 500 employees. A recent SBA statistic from 2021 shows that there are approximately 32 million small businesses in the US which account for 99.9 percent of all US businesses. With this information, it is clear that small businesses make up a very large part of the businesses we frequent and serve.
Today, April 28th, is World Day for Safety and Health at Work! Maintaining a safe and secure workplace is an important part of UGI Energy Service’s commitment to safety and wellbeing for our employees. Together as a team, we can prevent work place accidents from happening to assure injuries do not take place. Awareness and continuous training are ways that we make sure our employees know what safety measures should be taken at all times. Each one of us is responsible to not only protect ourselves, but ensure we do not endanger others as well. A safe workplace is a happy workplace, as it provides employees the environment to effectively do their jobs.
We are delighted to celebrate both our earth and volunteers this week! This week we honor Earth Day and National Volunteer Week. These two observances go hand in hand, as we use our planet as the vessel for many of our volunteer activities. We have been busy recently, participating in activities to help our planet and community. At UGIES, we value our volunteers and the work they do within our community. WYOMISSING, PA, April 21 – UGI Corporation (NYSE: UGI) announced today that its subsidiary, UGI Energy Services, LLC, acquired a 33% equity interest in Ag-Grid Energy LLC (“Ag-Grid”), a renewable energy producer with projects in the United States. Ag-Grid currently develops and operates small scale renewable power projects that support local energy demands while lowering emissions.
