HOUSTON, TX – Today, Archaea Energy, a subsidiary of bp (NYSE: BP), and UGI Energy Services, LLC (“UGIES”), a subsidiary of UGI Corporation (NYSE: UGI) celebrate the start-up of their joint venture's renewable natural gas (RNG) plant in Hegins, Pennsylvania. The companies formed the Aurum Renewables joint venture (JV) to develop and own the RNG plant, which is adjacent to the Commonwealth Environmental Systems landfill in Schuylkill County. The plant came online in September.

On May 22nd, UGI Energy Services won the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA) Business Excellence Award in the “Large Business” category. The Greater Reading Business Excellence Awards, presented by the GRCA and KPMG LLP, honors the area’s most dynamic for-profit businesses and their contributions to the success of the entire community. This was the 11th year for the award ceremony – and it took place at the Santander Arena with over 750 participants in attendance. 45 companies within our community were recognized within this category, and we consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have made the list once again.
