UGI Energy Services, LLC (UGIES), a subsidiary of UGI Corporation, today presented the Veterans Outreach of Pennsylvania (VOPA) a work truck to transport prefabricated homes for their new Tiny Home village. The truck, a 2015 Ford F-250, was contributed to VOPA through UGIES’ Veteran Employment Team (VET).

“We are pleased to support Veterans Outreach of Pennsylvania and their Tiny Home Village for homeless veterans in the region,” said Mindy Deamer, Chair of VET at UGI Energy Services. “At UGIES and for the VET Committee, giving back to the Veteran community is our way to honor those who have dedicated their lives to serve for our country.”

VOPA’s mission is to provide each Veteran with his or her tiny home, so they can feel safe and in control of their surroundings. The tiny home village is designed for homeless Veterans to promote a nurturing environment where each Veteran can join with service providers, family and friends to find a path that leads to a better life, supported through access to heath, wellness, education, employment and a myriad of other services provided at the Veteran’s pace.

"We are deeply grateful for the support of UGI Energy Services and their VET committee,” said Tom Zimmerman, chairman and co-founder of VOPA. “Having this truck will allow us to transport the model tiny home to outreach events, and, when Veterans move into our community, it will be a much-needed maintenance vehicle for us. In the winter, we plan to put a snowplow on the truck to help us clear our access road. UGI Energy Service's donation will directly help Veterans in Veterans Grove and the surrounding community.”
